Well, I've contemplated a TreeTransform variant that could operate over
a transport.  Applying a transform requires mkdir, symlink,
file.write(), chmod, rename, unlink and rmdir.  (rename isn't required
to be atomic, of course.)

I've got lots of other stuff to do ATM, but if someone else wants to
pursue it, I'd be happy to give pointers.
