Otherwise, your best bet for now is probably to ask on this list or perhaps #bzr
on freenode.  I'm not sure from your post if you're mainly interested in how to
use it, or how it's implemented, but either way the list should be able to
answer your questions.

some detail about how to write high-level operations for the smart protocol to
make it much much better than just another file transport.
