Attn Aaron - Inventory with no root is ok by me..

during discussion with Martin and John today I realised that having
inventory have no root is roughly analagous to the situation of having
all entries have a root id - that is that if you can remove one entry,
you should be able to remove them all.

So my concern there is removed.
