[merge] remove some more mutters

Considering that most of these are only called when creating a new
transport (like when calling get_transport()) it seems like they
shouldn't be occurring that often. However, none of them seem critical,
so +1 to have them silenced for now.

But I wonder if you haven't uncovered a different bug.
