I think we would rather see your work get gradually integrated into
core, rather than be a long lived process that eventually has to get
shoehorned back in.
Part of the reason for code review is to make sure everyone agrees with
where things are going, so you don't spend a lot of time on stuff that
doesn't get integrated (or having to rewrite something)
But I'm glad to see your changes get posted somewhere. And I look
forward to your results.
