Well, the operation itself is generic: "tell this directory service about
my branch".  But then the command is defined in a launchpad-specific
plugin.

For public or open source bazaar branches I hope we can get them into a
single central directory where everything can be found.  For private or
proprietary branches that obviously won't work but there's no reason in
principle why it could not have an option to mark them private or send
to a different server or what have you.
