Well, the patch does seem to correctly remove the --all option.

On the other hand I don't see much value merging this as-is - why not
wait until you've used it to bring some simplification to the
status/diff code?  If you want to put it in, feel free.

Don't forget to update NEWS though - this is a user-visible minor
featurectomy so should be reasonably prominent.
