[MERGE] report changed paths more accurately.

The attached patch reports changed paths during commit much more
accurately. I think this is a candidate for 0.8 backporting : no public
apis are removed by it, and the one new api (CommitReporter.renamed) is
sensible and easy to use. Its a ui issue that will have people going
'wtf just happened' when they commit and do not see their files listed -
I think its quite severe.

Seeking a +1, and separately an ok for 0.8 inclusion.
