current key TODO's edition 2

This is the mental list I am carrying around of the key things that once
in will allow a lot of nice improvements to be carried out without
needing to cause interoperability issues between different releases, and
as such they are great things for us to do as soon as possible, because
that reduces bottlenecks and makes it easier for us not to step on each
others toes... (also, its the things that I find I am saying 'once X
happens' ...)

* bzr-dir/branch-formats [I'm working on bzr-dir which brings in   repo
formats and preps for repositories, martin is currently bringing in
branch-formats to mainline]
* bound-branches data-storage needs [john has this under control AIUI]
* versioned-file [JRydberg has been blocked pending storage and
branch-formats coming in as mainline]
* johns huge-format-change [blocked on branch-formats/bzr-dir]
* checkouts last-revision marker [under discussion]
* recording per file ancestry (in the inventory xml for both working
trees and revisions, record the ancestor revisions for each file
individually rather than just at the revision-dag level) [discussed and
agreed upon IIRC in Montreal; noone visibly working on it]
* Abentleys plan for symlinks on windows [blocked on bzr-dir/branch
formats, dunno progress other than that]
* +x bit preservation on windows [will need working tree format bump,
thus blocked on bzr-dir branch]
* repositories [blocked on bzr-dir, but essentially trivial with that
done, may be done as part of the end, currently working on the
infrastructure for it as part of bzr-dir]
* weave/knit/revision object recording facility to say that 'revision
Foo is included in revision bar, but not Foos parents' [this is martins
suggestion for allowing some nice cherry pick merge properties in a
simple form']
* tags [needs consensus built on whether tags are versioned or not]
* store escaping of filenames etc [blocked on bzr-dir]
* unicode normalisation [john has something in progress on this, blocked
by bzr-dir]
