You know, there's a theory that the myth of the hydra comes from a river
system, where as soon as they dammed one river, another one would overflow.

Maybe a Hydra would make a good mascot, because it's one creature with
many heads, like an distributed development project.  It would be a
vegetarian Hydra, of course.
