(for those going meh -- there's an ancient rift between the two primary
 UK educational institutions, Oxford and Cambridge universities.  One
 prefers the -ize form of words, the other prefers the more recently
 introduced -ise forms.  American English has tended to take the -ize
 form, largely because the split predates the introduction of -ise.)
