bzr branch is slow and memory-hungry (just a data point)

bzr branch is currently heavily unoptimized (has to copy the whole
archive, which itself is not space-saving), but this will change. See
recent threads on this list with "cheap(er)? branching" and "centralized
storage" as search keywords.
