How is Bazaar-NG related to Bazaar and Arch in general?

Yeah. They're even in different programming languages.

| 1) Will Bazaar-NG eventually gain support for Arch repositories? How much
| support will there be, and what is the point to having this support?

No, but there will be a way to losslessly convert Arch branches into bzr
branches.

| 2) Will there be two separate projects, in perpetuity, or will one of the
| projects be superceded by the other?

The plan is for one to supercede the other, but it's not clear which one
will win.

Originally, Canonical used tla internally. Then they started work on
baz, so they'd have an Arch implementation that sucked less. Now
they're funding bzr so they can have a destributed revision control
system that doesn't suck at all.

Canonical's working on Bazaar, because they need a distributed revision
control system that works *now*. They've got a bunch of infrastructure
that uses Arch, and they won't want to drop it all at once in favour of
bzr, which is still experimental and doesn't yet support their needs.
