I don't really follow that reasoning. It seems to me that if the FSF
had copyright assignments on hand, it would not prove that the code was
legitimate. Nor would it provide a shield for anyone who contributed
code they didn't have the right to contribute, because the FSF could
then sue *them*.
Nevertheless, I'm happy to go along with whatever you folks decide.
I'll even sign a piece of paper in Sydney, if you like.

P.S. I've got best-case merge time for a kernel tree down to 16 seconds,
which isn't so far from the 5-10 seconds Linus wants.
