Yep, I verified that. There is a 'clean' stage of the tarball build
process, but it's on the working tree, and honestly, it's a bit
superfluous, because the tarball/snapshot build process goes out of
its way to avoid capturing local changes by checking out a clean copy
of the branch and using that as the basis for the tarball.
