In fact, there is an alternative method being developed right now, but 
it won't require the ARB or the extras repo. It also won't be launched 
until later this year at the soonest. But, in the meantime it's really a 
far better service to app developers if we point them to the proper 
channels for getting their software into Ubuntu right now, rather than 
wasting their time on an unsupported/deprecated process.
