Ah, I see. I understand that it won't be a conflict in the archive, but
it is a bit confusing in myapps:
https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/postman/
We have in there:
- For 12.10 Postman is available
- For 12.04 Postman is also available
- For 10.10 an unrelated program called also Postman is available
I would suggest changing the name of the current app to
'postman-uploader' to avoid confusion. What do you guys think?
Anthony, I've CC'd you to get your opinion and advice on this. In short,
we have got an entry in apps.ubuntu.com (postman) that includes 2
different apps under the same name. One of them appears in 10.10 and was
removed afterwards, and a new unrelated one, which has just been
uploaded, took over for 12.04 and 12.10.
As I say above, my suggestion would be to change the package name of the
new app in myapps, extras and apps.u.c, but it'd be good to have the
input from the experts.
Also, related to that, I've also noticed that bug #1045691 [1] is still
an issue:
- In https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/precise/postman/ the
description of the app and its name are swapped
- In https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/quantal/postman/ not only
the description and name are swapped, but the icon and screenshots are
gone. The only difference I know of here is that the app was
forward-copied from the precise package in the ARB PPA.
Would it be possible to look at the bug?
Thanks!
Cheers,
David.
