One thing we should check into is the maturity of pkgme. From what I
understand, pkgme can satisfy a small number of use-cases currently
(primarily generating packages with binaries in them), but pkgme is
missing a number of backends for the majority of use cases. This is
something that Michael Hall is going to be helping the pkgme team with
in 12.10. My concern is that pkgme today will probably fail to work on
most of the ARB queue.

I do agree though that in the future pkgme is the solution, but I
suspect that it is not particularly helpful for us in the 12.10 cycle.

My hunch is that we may wish to require PPAs in the 12.10 cycle until
pkgme is able to process most of the queue. A good test of this is for
us to run the ARB through pkgme and see the results. Daniel, did you
get a chance to do this yet?
