                      i386 and use both synaptic<br />
                      and apt-get with out problems. I've never tried 64
                      bit as I have a<br />
                      'test' older machine which I use if I have trouble
                      - so I am too lazy<br />
                      to burn a DVD for both. So many places I have read
                      that there is<br />
                      little difference between the two so I've not
                      bothered testing x64<br />
                      out.<br />
