Iceweasel is based on Firefox, so unless it's got the same sort of "freeze" bug, that might be an option. But are there any other alternative browsers available? preferable using the WebKit engine.

Hello,

I recently installed Xubuntu 14.04 successfully.
After that, I installed the Icedtea-plugin and openJdk packages, and tested in both Firefox, Chrome and Chromium that Java worked.

Now suddenly the plugin is no longer registered inside either Chrome or Chromium.
Now I could use Firefox, but I've found out that it's very unstable - why I don't know - but every now and then, it just freezes up my computer - so Firefox is really not an option right now. Besides, I prefer using Chrome and Chromium.

Do you have any ideas how to fix the plugin-registration issue in either Chrome or Chromium?

Best regards,
Martin.
