I have seen on a web page a reference on how to get The Gimp
to print on an older Canon machine, but I found the
instructions were not suitable for my set up. I have found
"Kover" but it only appears to print the paper jewel case
inserts, which is handy, but not what I wanted most urgently.<br>

Q. Can anyone point me towards a package that handles this
directly (best option), or at least a good tutorial that can
help me get one of the more common Xubuntu packages to
cooperate and do it (most likely option?). <br>

Did you install Gutenprint and it's plugin for Gimp?<br>
It may help.<br>
