Thanks to Gérard and Ralf,

I didn't even know the power manager was used to manage the screen in that manner. I changed the settings as suggested by Gérard but didn't have time yet to test it. On the other hand I tried to look up the xorg.conf file as suggested by Ralf but there is no "/etc/x11/" directory in my installation??? Could the file be somewhere else??

Thanks again,

Gérald

Le 15/04/14, Gerard Bekhuis <odemarus@gmx.de> a écrit :

Hallo GéraldJean.
You have to go to the settings manager, open this.
Than you open the power manager.
You take the 2button, that you open.
Aktivity:
The first one you say "never" to the left.
Monitor
Under monitor you must take 3x "never" to the left.
Thats all.

I am running Xubuntu 12.10 on an Asus notepad, works great!!!
Lately I connected it to and HD TV through an HDMI cable to watch
movies in streaming. Works perfectly well, out of the box.

The only glitch I have is that I can't figure out how to prevent
the screen from going to sleep and every 10-15 minutes the screen
goes black and I have to play with the mouse to get it back, which
is a little anoying while watching a movie!!! I went into
Parameters > Screen Saver and setted it to «Disable Screen
Saver», didn't work, I also tried all other settings with a
refresh time of over 400 minutes, doesn't work either???

Anyone has a clue on how to prevent the screen from going black,
or any other pattern, for an extended period of time???

Thanks,

Gérald
