(Warning - I am a novice...) I have had trouble with this so my
approach to this is to permanently disable this mechanism. I
clear out the ~/.cache/sessions directory and then change its
permissions to 0555.<br>

OK, but does this work for the direct (as opposed to via
LogOut)<br>
shotdown and restart? The "Prompt on Logout" option
certainly doesn't<br>
work *except* when one logs out as opposed to using Shutdown
or Restart.<br>
