Hi everyone,

I was wondering why GParted is not
included on the 'Live' Media? LiveCD or
LiveUSB of Xubuntu?

I am one of those who highly use GParted and
I use it to plan my partitions before any
installation. I know I can install it on the
Live Mode but I am just curious why it is
not there? other flavours have it by default
AFAIK but of course, after installing the
system, it is not included :)

Sorry if this is an old topic, was just
curious and looking for some answers :)

Many thanks!
It's included in all the live xubuntu's I've ever looked
at, just the same as any ubuntu or kubuntu.

If you're by chance looking where other people put it
system menu - that's why you can't find it - it's in the
settings manager.

Hi Elfy,

Oh, ok then, I will try to find it there. I am now on
12.04 LiveUSB and GParted is there where I usually can
find it. I am backing up the files of my neighbour and
once done, will wipe the worst Windows Version (Vista) -
IMHO - and install Xubuntu 13.10 :D

I made two LiveUSB, one for 12.04.3 and the other for
13.10 :)

I will have a look and will let you know in case it is not
there for some weird reason.

Many thanks :)
If I remember correctly it moved to settings manager either 12.10 or
13.04, previous to that it was in System.

If it's not there then I can double check, but I'd imagine something
wrong at your end.
