<p>I have an HP NW9440 laptop running Xubuntu 12.04. I tried to hook up a tv to my aux video port but nothing I tried would give me a picture on the tv, even booting with the tv connected. When I tried <fn><f4>, all that did was kill the laptop screen.</p>

<p>What am I missing?</p>
