What kind of issues have you encountered in the installation? Have you been able to record what the error is, and have you
sent in a defect report, showing the error and describing your configuration, so that it can get fixed? That's the only sure way to keep free software working well.</div><div id="yiv1058252274"><br></div><div id="yiv1058252274">Personally, I try to test at least one or two builds before release, and if I encounter an issue, I report it immediately and try to share as much relevant information as possible so that developers can replicate the issue and resolve it. Without hardware information, in the case of installation issues, or use case scenarios, describing what you were doing, and what happened (in detail), it's really hard for anyone to fix the software.</div><div id="yiv1058252274"><br></div><div id="yiv1058252274">I don't develop any more, but I test a lot, and I also evangelize, suggesting to others what systems are good to test, and encouraging people to provide helpful feedback, so that the software we use can continue to advance,
rather than regress.</div><div id="yiv1058252274"><br></div><div id="yiv1058252274">The one downside, if there is one, to Xubuntu, is that I doubt that it gets anywhere even remotely close to the amount of testing and feedback that both Ubuntu and Kubuntu receive. After this thunderbird should start with a window that prompts you for your incoming email server (imap or pop) and your outgoing mailserver (smtp). Enter all your details in there and, please, do not leave this page until all tests for incoming and outgoing have been passed successfully. You might have to experiment with authentication methods and the like.<br><br>Then your email should be working, as expected.<br>You might proceed from there.<br><br>I hope this helps you along. is the easiest client to setup for internet mail.
