Did you reply to the previous message and just change the topic and<br>
contents? Some (most?) mail clients will retain the information<br>
about what thread the reply belongs to if you don't start a completely<br>
new message.<br>

Likewise, some mail clients will blindly lump all messages claiming to<br>
belong to a thread together. The net result is that it looks like you<br>
hijacked his previous message (ie, it looks like you just replied to<br>
his message to ask your own question) to ask about geany instead of<br>
creating a new thread.<br>
