</div></div>One method of trying almost any linux distribution, including Ubuntu,<br>
without disturbing the hard drive is to use the live cd. Ubuntu has a<br>
cd called the Desktop cd which runs without installing. Just grab the<br>
image and burn to a cd.<br>

Just go to <a href="http://www.ubuntulinux.org/" target="_blank">http://www.ubuntulinux.org/</a> and click the download button.<br>
If asked, you do want to download the desktop cd. After burning it,<br>
restart the computer with the cd in the drive. You will be offered the<br>
choice to install or try without installing. Yes, it will run the<br>
Ubuntu desktop without installing. You can try everything, then install<br>
it if you want to. It will be just a little bit slower than running<br>
from the hard drive.<br>
