You can check by running the following command in a terminal window: md5sum ~/Desktop/realplayer_11.0.0-0.2medibuntu0.8.04.1_i386.deb | grep 652df25834428bd8ec36ba170f2c6ab3 If there is no output (i.e. it only reshows "michael@ubuntu:~$"), then indeed something went wrong with the download. If the file got transferred correctly it should show something like 652df25834428bd8ec36ba170f2c6ab3  /home/michael/Desktop/realplayer_11.0.0-0.2medibuntu0.8.04.1_i386.deb If that doesn't appear, could you try downloading the .deb file again, and then perform this check again?
