At the moment I managed to connect to the internet. I changed the
IP-address of my laptop to <a href="http://192.168.2.100" target="_blank">192.168.2.100</a>. For some obscure reason the
connection could be established.<br>

But still 127 updates are waiting to be downloaded. When I tell the
packet manager to get these updates nothing happens. Only the cursor
starts turning, nothing else.<br>

<br></blockquote></div><br>I sometimes have that problem in Ubuntu (right now, coincidentally), but never with Xubuntu. Anyway, I can just press Ctrl+Alt+Esc and click on the Update Manager to force it to quit, and subsequently run it again and then it will work :)<br clear="all">
