</a><br><br>I think the second method described in the reply to that command would work for you, this just skips the step of changing all "edgy"s to "feisty". This means that all you base packages are upgraded to the Feisty versions but everything that is not on the default CD will still be at their Edgy versions (if you were to do a fresh install from the CD you would also have lots of updates I guess).

machine has had any applications installed since the original installation
because you will end up with unmet dependencies which will either require a

far as I know, you can only do a dist-upgrade from the alternate install
disk. If you are using the alternate install disk, you may still be prompted
to download files, because the disk only has updates for the programs that
come with the regular install, not for the programs that you installed by
