I had to sell my iBook for text books this semester, I am poking around here and there looking for a PPC machine for cheap ... hopefully a PowerMac G4 500MHz, 256mb of ram, 10gb hdd ... as soon as i get the money together and find one I would be willing to help.

There were "release" builds of PPC for Ubuntu and Kubuntu, and afaik, they didn't receive any additional or special testing . . . so I am checking to see if a "release" build of Xubuntu 7.04 for PPC can be rolled.

What Vincent said still stands, though . . . PPC is a port, and isn't officially supported by Ubuntu at this time.

Along these lines, any users interested in maintaining a PPC port for any flavor of Ubuntu should really step up and get involved. =) Official PPC support for Ubuntu was dropped in February of this year. That wasn't that long ago, but it will really take a solid community effort to keep it going past this point.
