Use that to go to the Firefox Download page and grab the latest tarball (2.0.0.1 I think). Untar it to the /opt directory. Open a terminal and type: $sudo tar xzvf firefox-nnnnn.tar.gz -C /opt Remove the firefox-1.5 package by $sudo apt-get remove firefox It will warn you that firefox and xubuntu-desktop will be removed. Go ahead with 'Y' Create a symlink in the /usr/bin directory for firefox $sudo ln -sf /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox Voila!
