sorry...make a type mistake.. You said you inserted the 6.10 server CD - it doesn't contain the Ubuntu desktop packages. --> I put Ubuntu 6.10-alternate CD... :-) but now every thing working fine.... in my weekend...I tried and every thing configured as per my need...after some hit and trial.....here is what I have done... <ul><li>Install Xubuntu</li><li>then $sudo apt-cdrom add</li><li>add Ubuntu 6.10-Server edition</li><li>$sudo apt-get install apache2/php5/mysql-server ---> everything got installed...</li></ul>Everything got installed...
