What I was supposed to say was that I'm sorry I haven't been able to 
come up with an answer.  I thought this was going to be really easy. 
I've tried a bunch of different things but nothing worked.  It seems 
when you spawn off a script that it's not tied in any way to its parent 
unless the parent is running.

You could certainly write a GUI program that duplicated your script and 
that would stop when you logout.

I have no idea what your script does or how complicated it is but you 
might try that.
