[xubuntu-users] THunar not using the right app to open files

Here's what showed in the terminal (with a comment added here):

The file opened in Audacity anyway, though it doesn't play, it just
gets read in and converted from mp3 to bitstream.

Not too surprisingly, when I right clicked and told thunar to use VLC,
it printed this:
