I think it *is* being, in some fashion, given what I see:

If it had a memory card there wouldn't be a problem :-) except I'd also
like to use its webcam feature until I can afford a laptop with a
built-in one :-)

Unfortunately fdisk does not report on any USB device in existence.

That would help, if a device had been created. But alas it hasn't been.
