Hi all,
I've just completed documents on running and modifying Linux on Qemu
and VirtualBox. There are many advantages, including convenience and
speed (on hardware with hardware VM assist), and not collecting a vast
pile of labeled hard disks for the various experiments. For XUbuntu
users, I'd imagine the most obvious use case is trying something new
without trying it on the computer you use every day. It takes
surprisingly little time to install Xubuntu on a Virtual Machine guest
of a host that has hardware VM assist.
It's also good for troubleshooting, because if you can reproduce the
symptom on a VM, then you can do diagnostic tests much faster, and if
something borks the machine, you can reset it back to a previous state
if you've been taking snapshots.

I hope you enjoy them.
