[xubuntu-users] Password Protect Dual Boot NTFS Partitions - Solved Kinda...

I edited:

/var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/com.ubuntu.desktop.pkla

according to how it says in:

http://ubuntuguide.net/make-ubuntu-asks-password-when-mounting-ntfs-drives

(the link says to comment out a few lines)

But, it asked for a PW when first mounting but even if I unmounted it
still would open the partition without a PW - like the intital mounting
"sticks" or continues...

So I added this to /etcfstab:

UUID=1Z9C6ABC9C612345  /media/cctop1  ntfs-3g
defaults,nouser,windows_names,locale=en_US.utf8  0 0

you have to change some of it to your match your system, like the UUID
and the mount point.

And now it asks for a PW with mounting and unmounting. And when it's
unmounted it seems to really be unmounted because it'll ask for a PW
again to mount. That's close enough to what I wanted...
