There is definitely no physical write protection on the card. I have
tried to change the permissions of the mounted device. The permission
for my account is Read & Write and the Group "john" permission is
None. When I tried to change this it would not allow it with the
message: Error when getting information for file
'/media/john/HT-3001/.Trash-1000'
Previously I had accessed the card and tried (and thought I had
failed). The reason for this is that the card is used on a proprietary
device which is very particular about what it finds in the file
system. It would appear, however, that I had succeeded and now file
manager cannot handle it.
