[xubuntu-users] garmin satnav updates

I'd be grateful if someone could advise on garmin updates. The Garmin 
Communicator plugin is a bit outdated and depending on the satnav age there is 
some success.

I read somewhere that one can use a small SD card and load the update onto 
there and the satnav will read it directly.

Just wondering what others are doing. Obviously with M$ it works fine... 
if one still has M$.
