[xubuntu-users] Skype application software for Xubuntu?

a real linux alternative to skype will have to be able to connect to
skype in a way that allows one to stay in touch with one's contacts
when they are active in skype at least audio+chat wise (video?).

linux "pidgin" allows one to do that with the chats+audio (video?) of
yahoo IM and google chat...
