For me, Thunderbird becomes so incredibly when run in conjunction with
large IMAP mailboxes, that for practical purposes it's unreliable. You
don't know whether it's hung or just going 1 mile per hour.

Claws is quirky, no doubt about it. But operating in conjunction with a
large IMAP system of large mailboxes, I can't spare the time to use
Thunderbird as a daily thing. I reserve it for comparison when I have
problems with Claws.
