[xubuntu-users] Old Images Linger in /boot

I had trouble updating because /boot became full of old images.
Nearly 1 GB of old / problematic files, versions 3.2.0-29 to 3.2.0-67. There
were 31 of files with names beginning with,
abi-
config-
initrd.img-
System.map-
vmlinuz-
I managed to clean this up BUT how can one automate the removal of such cruft?
It did not happen with previous versions of Ubuntu / Xubuntu.
