In response to your question:
I executed the command as requested...
The system responds with:
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release: 14.04
Codename: trusty
How did I get to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS -- when I initially started with
-- Xubuntu 13.10???
Along with a broken system???
Regards,
Gary
