[xubuntu-users] how to install package like zlib1g-i386 in xubuntu 12.04?

What's your system architecture? 64-bit or 32-bit? If it's 32, that's your
issue right there, you're trying to install a 32-bit compost package on an
arch that is being emulated,  just install zlib1g (forgoing the :i386 part)
in this case.
