[xubuntu-users] Problems with saved session at shutdown. I want "logout && shutdown" using action buttons in panel.

Hello,
I am using xubuntu 13.10 and my problem is that xubuntu always saves
session when shutdown. I switched off “Automatically save session on
logout” under Logout Seeting in xfce4-session-settings. However, all
windows such as firefox, terminal etc. that have been open on shutdown
are restored. It seems that this happens only at shutdown, not at
logout.
I have used xubuntu 12.04 before where I did not experience this
behaviour. I also tired xubuntu 14.04 in virtualbox and experience the
behaviour of xubuntu 13.10.
1. Deleted .cache/sessions.
2. logged in.
3. switched “Automatically save session on logout” on (to save a
minimal session).
4. Shut down (using the buttons from the panel action buttons).
5. Boot PC. Logged on.
6. switched “Automatically save session on logout” off.
7. opened firefox, terminal.
8. Shut down (using the buttons from the panel action buttons).
9. Boot PC. logged on.
10. Firefox and terminal WILL be restored :)
I have looked for solutions and tried:
a. delete .cache/sessions (as before). The next session will be clean
then (I want this every login), but the second login will restore the
applications from the first session and so on. Regardless of the
settings under “Automatically save session on logout” (which is
off).
b. Tried this kiosk blabla here:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/250630/how-can-i-turn-off-xfce-session-saving-system-wide
. Did not change anything except that there is no save session checkbox
at shutdown.
As said before, only logout seems to do what I expect:
c1. Deleted .cache/sessions.
c2. logged in.
c3. switched “Automatically save session on logout” on (to save a
minimal session).
c4. Logged out.
c5. Logged on.
c6. switched “Automatically save session on logout” off.
c7. opened firefox, terminal.
c8. logged off.
c9. logged on.
c10. Firefox and terminal will NOT be restored :)
Is there a way to modify the action at "shutdown" in the panel action
buttons into something like logout && shutdown?
Best
Moe
