[xubuntu-users] problems with notes and hplip

further to this I am getting the following error when running inside an
xterm

** (xfce4-notes:3741): WARNING **: main-status-icon.vala:37: Status Icon
is not embedded

it takes a while for this to eventually display in the xterm
