[xubuntu-users] Screen goes blank after resume

Hi, I've recently installed xubuntu 12.04 LTS on an old machine
Dell Latitude D600
proc: Intel centrino
RAM: 2GB
video card: ATI

I put the laptop in suspend mode by:
$ sudo s2ram -f

but on resuming it remains blank and nothing happens. I googled a lot but
nothing does the job.

Any suggestions ?
