[xubuntu-users] Using UEFI

I've got Ubuntu Gnome on my Windows 8 UEFI notebook. It's an Asus X55C
(cheapy from best buy).
Getting Ubuntu Gnome installed was a terrible pain. Took me about 2 days
just to be able to boot from the CD. This was back when Ubuntu Gnome wasn't
an official Ubuntu flavor yet, so hopefully things have gotten a bit easier.
Is it really as easy as just popping in the CD and installing now? If so,
I need to get Xubuntu on that laptop because I can't deal with Gnome 3 for
more than a few months at a time. I always go back to XFCE.
